12 Easy Exercises For Getting That Hot Beach Body

You’re not going to get that sexy beach body just by dreaming about it, but you don’t necessarily have to slave away at the gym for hours on end to attain your fitness goals either! With a few simple exercises that you can do at home, you can sculpt and tone those muscles in just a few minutes a day. All you need is a couple of dumbbells, a stability ball, and a desire to create your best, strongest body ever. Try these 12 exercises to help you get that hot body you’ll be proud to show off  at the beach this summer!

12. Burpees

For an overall body-toning, fat-burning workout, burpees are where it’s at. This all-encompassing move engages just about every muscle on the body, from top to bottom. It targets the shoulders, arms, back, glutes, legs and core, all while getting your heart rate up and burning serious calories at the same time.

Start by standing straight up, then drop down and place your palms face down on the ground. Hop your feet back so you’re in a plank position, do a push up, then hop your feet back to your hands. Propel your whole body up, reach for the sky, then repeat. If you’re every pressed for time and only have a few minutes in the day to get in a good workout, performing a series of burpees makes for a great workout.

11. Deadlifts

If you want to sculpt your backside, deadlifts are the perfect exercise. This move helps to define the crease where your buttocks meet your hamstrings, helping you get those sexy curves you’re looking for when strutting your stuff in a bikini.

You’ll need a barbell or a couple of dumbbells to really feel a burn with this exercise. Start by standing erect, holding your barbell in front of you with your hands shoulder width apart (or with dumbbells, hold one in each hand at your sides). Keeping your legs straight without bending your knees, slowly lower the weights towards the ground as far as you can go. Make sure to keep your back slightly arched to avoid hunching over. Slowly raise back up to starting position, and repeat.

10. Squats

This basic move is fantastic for sculpting your thighs and buttocks, and doesn’t necessarily add bulk like many people may think. You’d have to lift serious weight and be on a strict muscle-building diet in order to bulk up like bodybuilders do. Instead, lifting just enough weight to feel a burn is all that’s needed to help build lean muscle mass that will simply sculpt and burn fat rather than add massive muscles.

Start by standing erect with two dumbbells – one in each hand – sitting at shoulder height. While keeping your back slightly arched and your face looking forward, slowly bend at the hips and knees until your knees are bent at a 90 degree angle. Slowly raise back up to starting position and repeat.

9. Lunge Hops

This is a great exercise to both tone the legs while revving up your heart rate and metabolism. Start in a lunge position, making sure that your front leg is bent at a 90 degree angle, and the back leg is stretched out behind you. Jump up and switch legs while in mid-air so that the back leg is now in front, and the front leg is now behind you. Continue to hop back and forth, alternating legs each time. Just 10 of these with have you huffing and puffing!
