Need a little more love in your life? If so, you’re in the majority. According to a 2010 Fetzer survey, 68 percent of Americans report needing more meaningful love in their lives, and nearly everyone thinks we could all use a little more love in the world. Romantic love is certainly a big part of the widespread desire for more love, but there are many other forms of love that can be just as fulfilling. Want to know how to attract more love into your life? Keep reading!

5. Recognize Barriers to Love

Sometimes not having love in your life has less to do with love not coming around and more to do with your ability to recognize and receive that love. Start by doing a personal inventory and identifying the barriers you may have in place that might keep you from accepting or giving love. Past hurts, traumas and betrayals are the most likely culprits. Once you’ve identified your barriers to love, start to work through them, so you’ll be more open to love the next time the opportunity arises.

4. Give Selflessly Often

Instead of focusing on your need for love, focus on giving freely to others, selflessly and often. Give your time and energy where you feel they will be most beneficial to others, and do so without asking for anything in return. Volunteer your time at an animal shelter, donate to your favorite charity or spend some time visiting residents at an adult care home. When your focus is on giving, rather than receiving, you are much more likely to find love as you attract others to your life who appreciate your time and generosity.

3. Look for Love in All Situations

From disagreements with coworkers to run-of-the-mill family drama, try to find ways to approach all things with love, and to find the love in every situation. Not only will this help you keep a cooler head during times of stress when emotions can run high, but will also send out a signal of love to those around you. What goes around comes around, and love is no exception! When you treat others with love, even in difficult situations, that love is likely to return to you later on.
