Falling into the trap of wanting to change things about your partner is an easy mistake to make, which can in turn result in nagging, bickering and disappointment – none of which is good for a strong, healthy relationship. Instead, focus on accepting your partner for who he really is, and teach yourself to let the little things go. Not everything is worth a fight or an argument. Instead, shift your focus to the things you truly love about him. Remind yourself why the two of you fell in love to begin with, and you may find it easier to accept and let go of the smaller, insignificant things along the way.

4. Be Present

Being present in your relationship is one of the biggest things you can do to improve things between you. Instead of focusing all of your attention on your tough day at work or the big business trip coming up or the kids or financial stress, make time every day to be truly and fully present in your relationship. Cuddle up together on the couch, touch and be touched, and feel the closeness between you grow. Use this time to reconnect with each other and make it a priority to be fully present in your relationship every single day, no matter how busy life may become.
