5 Ways to Get Rock-Hard Abs

Getting rock-hard abs is difficult, but not impossible. They keys to getting that washboard six-pack are discipline, variation and repetition. There’s no quick way to get the toned abs you’ve always wanted, but people who do the right exercises tend to notice improvements right away. Keep it up, and rock-hard abs are attainable by anyone. 5. Belt Machine Crunches

Belt machines are very effective in building strength in your abdominal muscles. You can find these at the gym; you kneel in front of the belt machine with your back towards the weights, grab the handle from over your head, and then bend forward using your abs. If the exercise is too easy, simply add more weights to the stack. You’ll also work your upper body by doing this exercise.

4. Hanging Leg Crunches

Hanging leg crunches is another exercise that is absolutely effective. You need a pull-up bar for these; all you do is hang from the bar and raise your legs up and down. You can either try to bring your knees to your chest, or you can keep your legs straight and raise them out in front of you. Raise your legs to the sides to work out your oblique muscles.

3. The Power of Planks

Planking is more than just an Internet meme; it’s also a hardcore ab workout that you can in just a few minutes. Get into the position as if you’re about to do a pushup, only rest on your elbows instead of your hands. Stay on your toes, keep your back straight and stay parallel to the floor. Hold this pose as long as you can, and continually push yourself to plank for even longer. Feel the burn? That’s what effort feels like.
